Builds aren't code-signed yet, so Smart App Control on Windows 11 may block them. What to do

With npm.

On any system with Node 18 or later. npm downloads only the build for yours.

npm install -g @autter/lanes

Or download the files.

Each archive holds lane, laned, the licence and the README. Unpack it and put the two programs anywhere on your PATH.

Check a file: gh attestation verify lanes-0.0.9-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz --repo Autter-dev/lanes proves it was built by this repo's release workflow. Or compare it with SHA256SUMS.

Every file, past versions too, is on the releases page. The install scripts also work straight from GitHub, for sandboxes that only allow github.com: curl -fsSL https://github.com/Autter-dev/lanes/releases/latest/download/lanes-installer.sh | sh

If your system warns you

These builds aren't code-signed yet.

Signing is on the way. Until then, here's what it means on each system.

  • macOS

Homebrew, the install script and npm work as they are. An archive you download in a browser is quarantined: after unpacking it, run this once in that folder.

    xattr -d com.apple.quarantine lane laned
  • Windows

With Smart App Control on, Windows 11 may block lane.exe, whichever way you installed it. Signed builds are on the way. Until then, the Linux build under WSL2 works.

  • Linux and WSL

Nothing extra to do. Every option works as it is.

Past releases.

Every version stays downloadable, with its own files, checksums and install command.

Then, in your repo.

Run lane in a terminal. The first time, it checks your machine, shows how a lane works and asks about the install count. Nothing is sent while you look around.
